Details of Experience:

Mr. Kivett was admitted to the Creekside Center on Saturday, October 5th, from Skyline Medical Center. They chose Creekside based on the recommendations from his Assisted Living Facility and the hospital case managers. Mr. Kivett was met by the nursing and therapy team to start a plan to get him feeling better and back to his normal functioning. Mr. Kivett is always smiling and happy to sit down and talk with anyone. He is the sweetest person, and very happy he chose Creekside.

Mr. Kivett was in the hospital due to a fall, where he fractured multiple ribs. Due to this, he needed maximum assistance when attempting ADLs (Activities of Daily Living), such as transferring from chair to bed, sitting to stand, lying to sitting, etc. He was also unable to walk at this time due to his injuries. He has been working with Joe in Physical Therapy and Katie in occupational therapy. The goal is to regain his strength and independence, return to his former level, or improve from his previous baseline.

Upon admission, Mr. Kivett required lots of assistance and had to be transferred using a Hoyer lift. Mr. Kivett now walks independently with a walker around the Creekside Halls multiple times daily. He always says hello to every person that he passes.

Mr. Kivett says, “The staff are so nice and always check on me. I love it here.” He is a pleasure and loves eating in the dining room and meeting new people. He enjoys attending activities, including bingo, parties, and art classes. He loves conversing with people and learning new things. He always smiles and brings me joy every time I see him.

Mr. Kivett has made remarkable advancements since coming to the Creekside Center, and we are incredibly proud of him. I am delighted that he chose us to rehabilitate him in his time of need.
